Birthday Bus to a Beach Party!

Hi Everyone, today I have a fun and colorful birthday scene card with the adorable Birthday Bus critters from Avery Elle.  I've wanted to create a card with this fun little set for a long time, I am so happy I could finally use it... I love this little stamp sets from different companies because the prize is great and you can pair them with lots of other sets you already own.  You can find this and other small stamp sets at the shop.

My creating process starts with a color combo I want to use for the entire card, I almost always try to use only the colors I choose, three or four colors I find work great for a design.  I color the cute birthday bus with markers in the colors I already choose to start and work from that.

I then started with the background, to color the background I used Mermaid Lagoon Oxide Ink with some water splashes.  I cut a strip of black cardstock for the road and with a wave die I cut from kraft cardstock the sand, I wanted this party to be at the beach.

I adhere everything to the front of the card and frame the scene with a rectangle frame die I colored in the same hot pink color I used on the complete the beach look I needed a palm tree, this palm tree is part of the MFT Beach Scene Builder Die-namic, (a must have die set, if you ask me), I colored it also with markers.

I finally stamped the sentiment with black ink and added some nuvo drops in the same tones.  I hope you like this happy birthday beach card,  I wish you have a wonderful rest of the week...

Gradient Monochromatic

Hello CDD Fans, Waleska here to share my take on a monochromatic card, I love color so this was a great challenge for me, when I search a definition for monochromatic said:  The term Monochrome is usually taken to mean colors black and white, but may also be used to refer to other combinations containing only tones of a single color, so I took this meaning and named my card today gradient monochromatic.

I started by choosing the color I wanted to use as the base, I choose Twisted Citron oxide ink.  I ink blend the entire front panel of my card and die cut several of the cactus from the Southwestern dies.  I added some water splashes to the die cut panel to give more interest to the piece without the die cut cactus.

I then colored the cactus starting at the bottom with Lucky Clover Oxide ink for a more defined  look to the cactus... and to stay true to the meaning of monochromatic I use green for them too.  I inlay all the cactus and glue them to the front panel.

I added some green sequin stars from the skyfall mix and added the sentiment on a gradient strip of cardstock and stamp the sentiment from the Wild West stamp set.

I hope you like my take on this monochromatic style.  Have a wonderful day!

You can find the hop HERE.   This week we are showcasing a new "Gamer" stamp set designed by the one and only Amy Osburn Purdie.  I love this new masculine sets we will be sharing this weeks and I created something different than a card today.

I started cutting the Door Hanger Silhouette design in Lunch Bag Cardstock.  I stamped a lot of skulls around the hanger with Raven Ink.  I cut the second file with a teal cardstock... I love the words "Boys Only" it goes very well with the theme of my project.  I put a piece of red cardstock behind the letters to make them pop.

The Final touch was definitely the Game Control.  I colored it with markers and add dimension to the buttons with Nuvo Drops in various colors...  I finally adhere the entire piece to the door hanger.

Here is the final look actually on my son's room... I have to say he loves it!!

What do you say? Are you a Gamer? Do you know anybody that would love this Door Hanger? I hope you like my project today...

My Brutus Monroe Favorite....

Hello Friends Welcome back for another Quick Tip Wednesday!!! using Brutus Monroe stamps and products, every Wednesday you can find a blog hop at the Brutus Monroe blog featuring a product or technique of the week!, all the Design Team works very hard to share great inspiration for you!! You can find the hop HERE.   This week we are showing our favorite Brutus Monroe Products... Mine are Background stamps, of course embossing powders, and the beautiful new cardstocks.  Let me share with you what I created with this three favorites of mine.

To create this beautiful cards I used one of my favorite Brutus Monroe background stamp called Floral Frenzy.  I stamped this background stamp on the front panel of three A2 size cards I created with Marsala, Midnight and Sea Cardstock with Brutus Monroe Embossing Ink and Gilded Embossing Powder.

This panels look beautiful just like that, I thought that I am going to make more of this in different colors of cardstock to have on hand and create quick and easy cards when needed.

I added the Thanks die cut word and did two coats of gilded embossing powder to it, I wanted a tone on tone look so with a 1 inch strip of cardstock I added the different sentiments also with gilded embossing powder.

I adhere the Thanks word die on different angles on the cards to have a little variation.

Which color is your favorite? I just can't decide in my opinion the Gilded Embossing Powder looks amazing on both dark or light cardstock... what do you say???
