Cloudy Day

Hi CDD Friends, Waleska here.
Today I'd like to share a card using a few current
favorites from our latest April release.

Card Details:
I used the adorable "Stormy Weather" stamp set.
I have decided already this little guy is my favorite.
The idea of this card was to create a very cloudy day
and a little mouse flying on the sky with his little umbrella.

To create the cloudy background I diecut a bunch of
clouds from the new Rainbow die set and glue them
to my card, with Pumice Stone distress ink I create
the gray color sky.

I hand cut my little mouse and added Comet
sequins for a little color!

I hope you have a wonderful day!

What is a CAS card?

Hi Card Makers... For this week's challenge on the

The theme is CAS

And as dumb as it can sound I did not know
what does CAS mean... I hear it before and kind
of have an idea of it, but did not know exactly
the meaning of creating a CAS card, so here is
what I learned:

What is CAS?
CAS stands for Clean and Simple

*Your card has to have a design concept
and not so much embellishments.
*Your card needs to be uncluttered
*Your card needs to have lots of
white space or open space
*Your card needs to have a focal point

But everyone can understand CAS
in different ways, everyone have their
own design style, so I guess the Card Police
is not going to arrest you if you make your
own style of CAS... hahaha

Hope this can help instead of confuse you!
For my card I made a rainbow, but I don't have
a Rainbow die so I created one with a hill die
from the Lawn Fawn Simple Stitched Hillside Borders

This is a little trick I learned from the Amazing
Jennifer McGuire (video link)

I cut lots of this borders from different colors
and then glue them together to make the
Rainbow... They fit perfect so it is very easy
to make perfect Rainbows.

I hope you can play along with us at the
Always Fun Challenges
there is a new challenge every Monday!

Chicks Graduation

Ohh how much fun was to create this funny
Chicks Graduation!
This is my entry for the Lawn Fawnatics
Challenge #3 OUTSTANDING OCCASIONS

I wanted to create a Graduation and since almost all
of the Lawn Fawn stamps coordinate I used one of
the chicks of  the Chirp Chirp Chirp stamp set
and the Graduation hat from the Smart Cookie set

For the Stage I used a Silhouette File called
DRAMA THEATER STAGE by Samantha Walker
Design #9369
and colored it with Distress Inks
(I had to resize the image to fit my card)

I hope you had a great weekend and can be inspired
by my funny card!  I am totally planning to save this
card to give it to my little brother for his Graduation!

Flower Rain

This is my entry to the current

Pin-Sights Challenge at the ClassRoom

The beautiful inspiration for this challenge
has lots of soft colors and a spring vibe.

I used the Silver Linings by Julie dies with
a little flower of the Bear Ware by Julie
I used a white glitter cardstock to embellish
the cloud and make some heart dies.

The last Pin-Sights Challenge I was the winner
of the $50 gift certificate, and it was a perfect
time to win because that same week the Ellen Hutson
shop had a great deal so I bought so many stamps!!!
So excited for that Haul!

I hope you have a great day!

How to make a Water Shaker?

Hello my Sweet Friends and CDD Fans!
The April release is available at the shop
and this is my last card for this Release Event!

I am very proud of  Tara Bruening (CDD owner)
and her Amazing job every release!
I love to be part of a company with so many
unique stamps and dies!

For this card I created a Water Shaker!!!
Yes you can make Water Shakers.....
Let me show you how?

First you need to make your window
and as any other shaker you glue the
acetate to the back of the window.

Then you have to start working on your
water shaker, for mine I use a small bag
that you can seal on top, (like Ziploc bags.)   I filled
it with a little of water and add the color with
distress reinkers.

What I do next is, secure the bag with
lots of clear tape in the up part
I attached the bag on top of the window I die cut
all of this in the back part of course
(I tape only the top of the bag) to my card
it is also important that the window you
cut is smaller than the bag with water.
Clean your bag before you attach it to your
card base... (This is important)

I put double sided tape around the card
it is better if you double the tape for the
water to have room to move.
I attached this to my card base... and
Tadahhhhh you have your Water Shaker!

I hope you find this little tutorial of help,
if you want to create one of this fun interactive
cards!  Kids love them! I don't know about
the mailing (if it is safe to send it, because
I have never tried it) but I know you can
make someone happy giving one of this in
person to someone special.
So remember:

"When life gives you puddles,
jump in them.... and have fun!

Broken China and Faded Jeans
with a smooshing technique to give the look
of rainwater

I die cut the some clouds with our new
Cloud die and give it a little color with a gray marker

Fairytale Dreams

Today is the second day of the Craftin Desert Divas
April release and we are sharing the new and adorable
"Fairytale Dreams" stamp set... which has some of
our favorite Fairytale girls from all time!
My sweet girl Liah loves this set! you know why...

For this set of cards I used lots of Dies from
Craftin Desert Divas so I wanted to share with
you all the things you can do with even the smallest
of dies that come on each set! All you have to do
is think outside of the box... As you know already
scene cards are my favorite so I had the best time
making this set of four cards...

The first card is an ocean theme so I used the
great waves from our Outdoor Landscape Dies
and for the back of the ocean I used the mountain
from the Scene Builder dies which I love because
you get so many dies that can be used in many
different ways, for all the cards I used the
Fancy Frame Dies to give a unified look to the set of four.

I wanted an Oriental look to this one so I used
the little Tree Trunk from the Scene Builder Dies
to make some branches and make one of those beautiful
trees with pink flowers, the small flower is also a
new die from this release!

For this into the woods scene card I used the
Scene Builder Dies again and I also used the
little leaves that come in this set to make some
colorful wind and I also added sequins in different
colors, all of the cards are colored with distress inks.

This card was my last and I wanted to give the
look of a swamp so I used the leafs that come in
our Inside Scalloped Circles dies in a deep
green and added some gold stickles to give the
look of a bunch of fireflies.

All the sentiments on this set are Awesome!
I hope you liked my cards and can be inspired
to make a card to a special girl of simply have
fun with this set! this and the whole release
will be available on Friday! Be ready to Shop!!!

Hugs,

Good Egg

Hello...it is a new week and it is Monday... that
means it is time for another challenge at the

The theme for this week is "Easter"

For my card today I used one of my favorite
Easter stamp sets from Sunny Studio Stamps
"A Good Egg"
because it has so many great stamps and sentiments
I used a spellbinders dies Square Swatch cut it
in soft colors to match the Easter theme.

Flower Shoes

Hello Crafty Friends! Finally Friday and I had some little
time between baths, breakfast and many other things
to make my entry to the Mix It Up Challenge at the

For this Fun Challenge all you have to do is combine
Essentials by Ellen Hutson products with some other
company products, for this challenge is Waffle Flower!
I have found myself buying more and more of their unique
stamps and dies!

For my card I used the Mondo Hydrangea by Julie
and colored it with oxide inks, because they blend so well.
I mix colors Fossilized Amber and Wilted Violet and
sponge it with Eyeshadow applicators to get in
the small areas.

I used the Oxide Inks to sponge
some areas of the base of my card to match
the colors on the shoes pattern.

Finally I flick some water to make it more interesting
For the shoes I stamp the First Step shoes in my flower
piece and cut it out to make the pattern on the shoes.

This is my final card! I had this card on my mind
for so long.... and It turned out exactly how I imagined!
Love when that happens!
Have a great weekend!

Hugs

Waleska
