Favorite Oxide Ink Colors

Hello Friends Waleska here to share some of my favorite Oxide ink color combos, I am a cardmaker and almost all my friends know it, so when I attend any celebration most of them expect a card from me... many times ( I know shame on me) I find myself looking for cards to give to my friends for different occasions.... Does that happen to you too? Well I created this set of cards, thinking in those situations, with the new and lighter Oxide Ink colors there are lots of combinations you can do... let me share my favorite, and some quick and easy cards any of your friends would love to receive... who wouldn't love a cute Monster card right?

CARD DETAILS:

The new Oxide Ink colors are beautiful, some of them are lighter and because of that you can mix them with almost any other Oxide Ink Color.  I especially love the Squeezed Lemonade here are my favorite combinations with that specific color.

I started ink blending the front panels with the squeezed lemonade Oxide Ink, mixed with Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade, Twisted Citron and Worn Lipstick, I also added water splashes so the colors can blend more easily.

Here are the color combinations.  Did you know you can find Oxide Inks on the CDD shop? You can find them HERE.

My idea was to create some quick cards that I can have on my stash, for any occasions.  I cut all the panels with the Fancy Frame dies and also die cut the second small from the Inside Scalloped circle die and color four adorable monsters from the Monster Carnival set and add some sequins as embellishments....

I left enough space on the cards to add any sentiment I need when give this set of cards, you can either use a banner or stamp the sentiment on the bottom of the card, this cards can be great for birthday, congratulations, get well or any encouragement card.

After I finish my cards I saw the left over pieces which also can be used to create other cards with colorful frames.

I hope you like this set of quick colorful cards you can create for any occasion, if you are like me... This can be great so you are always prepared to give a card.

Have a Wonderful day!

Mix Media Tag

Hello Friends, thank you for coming by my blog today for another Wednesday Quick Tip using Brutus Monroe stamps and products, every Wednesday you can find a blog hop at the Brutus Monroe blog featuring a product or technique of the week!, all the Design Team works very hard to share great inspiration for you!! You can find the hop HERE.   This week we are focusing on the beautiful techniques of Mix Media.  I had to admit I was a little intimidated by it, but after 10,000 Mix Media videos I came up with this tag that I loved!!! I think even though is completely out of my comfort zone of creating, I had so much fun making it, and I am already planning to explore more on this Mix Media techniques.

TAG DETAILS:

I started with a Jumbo Media Tag and one of my favorite Brutus Monroe Stencils called Pugsley, I inked the entire tag with Rock Candy Surface Ink this created a very soft color, after that I embossed the right corner of the tag with the embossing folder Petal Lace and added Sea Surface Ink mixed with a little water.

I added brown ink to the edges for a more rusty look and I also added Metallic Sterling Embossing Powder to the raised areas on the embossed parts of the flower.

I cut from an old book a piece to add interest to the tag and adhere it to the right corner.  I stamped a long phrase with Raven Embossing Powder.  I stamped the bunny from Be Unique stamp set and adhere it with the words NORMAL IS BORING from the same set, I also added a silver heart and some black and white splashes to finish the look.
The quick tip today is: Try something new, you can have a surprise!

Have a nice day!

Neat and Tangled Party Ensemble/Splash Day

Hello Friends, here I am participating on this fun Neat and Tangled Challenge, since I saw the challenge I wanted to participate, my family and friends can tell you how much I looove to organize parties... My kids parties are BIG, I love to create everything, starting with the theme, the invitations, decorations, treat bags, candy station and here in guatemala the piñata!!! Well this challenge was a complete delight to participate I hope you like what I created for a Splash Day Party!!! I used the adorable and one of my favorite summer stamp sets Beach day!!!

I started stamping and coloring lots of cute elephants, I wanted to use this elephant on everything.  My idea was to make a little beach scene on the decorations.

For the popcorn boxes, the glasses, the banner and the place cards I cut with desert storm cardstock the sand for the cute elephants and with peacock feathers oxide ink I created the water, I added water splashes for a realistic summer look!

To entertain the kids on the party I also created some small coloring books with the images from the Beach Day stamp set.  I also created treat bags with white paper bags.

I used the Silhouette Cameo to create the banner, place cards and coloring books.  I used the Start Banner Set, Thanksgiving place cards and Color and Sketch Book.

Here is Guatemala we are having a really hot Summer right now....Funny story is that my kids totally thought we were having a Splash Day Party and they were already picking their clothes for the Party!!!

Who is ready to splash some water, and have the cutests Splash Day party, (my kids are) hahaha the good news is that they got to eat  all the treats from the decorations.

I hope you liked my idea and decorations, fingers crossed!!!

QUICK TIP:

For today´s  Quick Tip, I have this love card with this fun Hippos.  For this card I used different tones of inks to create the background and ground, to create this look you need to start inking with the lightest color and after that, starting from the bottom use your darkest color to mix both.  This will help you make a nice transition of color.  I added some water splashes and adhere the cute hippos with foam tape.

Now is your turn create fun backgrounds for your favorite stamps using a light and a dark ink mix of color.  Remember also to join us at the Brutus Monroe Fan Club to know the latest news from Christopher and lots of inspiration from the Design Team HERE.

Fun Fold/Dinosaurs Card

Hello Friends Waleska here, from craftinglovew to share a very fun, fold card for the dinosaur lover in your life, in my life is my son Ian... He is 10 and loves Dinosaurs.  You can customize this fun fold card with any theme you like to make someone smile let me share with you how to do it.

CARD DETAILS:

To create this fun fold card you are going to need two pieces of paper.  One piece 28 x 10.5 cms. and the smallest piece 21.5 x 5 cms.

You fold both pieces, the biggest piece you fold on 11.5 and the smallest piece you make two folds of 5.5 from each side, just like the following photo.

After you have your fold pieces, you glue the small piece to the front bottom of the card, in the center, I used the craft tacky glue by tonic that you can find at the shop, which has become my favorite glue for most of my projects.

I found this dinosaur pattern paper to match the theme of my card and I cut different pieces of it and craft cardstock to embellish the front of my card.

I finally added the adorable dinosaurs from the Dino Dig Stamp set, I colored them with markers and adhere them with foam tape.

I added the funny sentiment and some nuvo crystal drops in color Sugared Almond, I did not want a lot of embellishment since my son does not like any glitter or sparkle (you know is a boy).

Now is you turn, make a fun fold card with any theme you like, I love this design because you are able to stand up your card for display.  They can be decorated in lots of different ways, and because they have many small sections you can even use some of the scraps you have been saving!

Have a wonderful day,
