Blue and Gold Watercolor Poppies from Scrappy Tail Crafts

Hello Scrappy Tail fans, Waleska Galindo with you again to share a new card using the beautiful Popping Poppies stamp set, this awesome stamp has 6 different flowers you can use it in many ways and colors and today I decided to use a non traditional color for them. I hope you like my card and can be inspired to take out your Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and have some fun as I did!

CARD DETAILS:

To create this card I started by stamping with a clear ink my poppies on a watercolor paper, I used  Strathmore watercolor paper, that is my favorite.  I used gold embossing powder.

I then started coloring the poppies at the beginning I was going to color them in red but then decided to use blues for a very different look the colors I used where No.30 Blue and No.31 Cobalt Blue.  When using my Zigs I like to use only the brush pens without water to mix them together.  I always start with my darkest color at the bottom and then I add the second color.  I like to have a towel to clean my lightest color because when mixing both color together you get a third color, so I constatly clean this light marker to have the overlap of the two colors mostly in the middle.

My idea at the beggning was to also color the leaves with zigs but I change my mind and stamp them on vellum for a soft look.  After all the stamping and coloring I hand cut all the flowers and leaves because I wanted to make a cluster of flowers in the middle of my card.  I move the flowers around and once I had the look I wanted I glue them together.  I then cut a black front panel and I also cut a gold frame to have the same look of the gold embossing I adhere the flowers to the center with 3D foam tape

I finally added the sentiments and some sequins here and there and there you have it! I had so much fun using my zigs again! I love the look of this elegant flowers in gold and blue.

I hope you have an amazing weekend, and have some time to create! This and many other great products are available on the shop now.

My card today was totally inspired by the love that is in the air....

CARD DETAILS:

To start with this card I cut the base with the Gina Marie Ric Rac Nested Rectangle Die and used Oxide Inks first with a layer of Spun Sugar very light, then with Worn Lipstick and finally with Candied Apple... I splash a little water to this panel.
I had a blast coloring this sweet Puppy from Jessica Lynn Original called Hot Dog Dachshund with Zig Markers in colors Oatmeal, Brown, Beige, Yellow and Wine Red.

To finish this cute card I used Nuvo Glimmer Paste Moonstone with a heart stencil leaving the part for the sentiment without the glimmer paste.  I stamped the sentiment and add some sequins in the doggie colors.  I adhere this panel to a black card base for contrast...

He is the cutest little doggie ever!!! Check out all the Jessica Lynn Original stamps at her Shop HERE.

Adding White Embossing details to Watercolor

Hello my Craftin Desert Divas Friends, Waleska from craftinglovew here with a little tip to add snow elements to your watercolor cards! After this card, I think I am going to use more my Zig Clean Color markers... Do you have materials in your desk you've been wanting to use for a long time?  Well that happen to me and the Zigs, so is a good resolution for this 2018 to start using all those materias, don't you think? I had so much fun creating this card with this adorable images!!! Let me share with you my little tip:

CARD DETAILS:

I started creating my background piece with a watercolor card base, I added snow dots with a Ranger Embossing Marker and added white embossing powder.  Since the embossing powder resist the watercolor it works great to create a snow background.

After that I created some snow covered trees.  I put some embossing ink on the corners of the trees and added the white embossing powder snow details, and put the green color with the Zig Clean Color markers.  I color the bear and cute penguin with the same markers.

I finally added white embossing powder to the bottom part of the card to simulate ice and stamp the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

White embossing powder looks bright even with the different watercolors on top.  I hope you can give this idea a try!

Have a wonderful Day!
