Gradient Monochromatic

Hello CDD Fans, Waleska here to share my take on a monochromatic card, I love color so this was a great challenge for me, when I search a definition for monochromatic said:  The term Monochrome is usually taken to mean colors black and white, but may also be used to refer to other combinations containing only tones of a single color, so I took this meaning and named my card today gradient monochromatic.

CARD DETAILS:

I started by choosing the color I wanted to use as the base, I choose Twisted Citron oxide ink.  I ink blend the entire front panel of my card and die cut several of the cactus from the Southwestern dies.  I added some water splashes to the die cut panel to give more interest to the piece without the die cut cactus.

I then colored the cactus starting at the bottom with Lucky Clover Oxide ink for a more defined  look to the cactus... and to stay true to the meaning of monochromatic I use green for them too.  I inlay all the cactus and glue them to the front panel.

I added some green sequin stars from the skyfall mix and added the sentiment on a gradient strip of cardstock and stamp the sentiment from the Wild West stamp set.

I hope you like my take on this monochromatic style.  Have a wonderful day!

Cake Stamp Set with Embossing Powder Accents

Hello Friends thank you for visiting my blog, for another Quick Tip Wednesday, today I have a fun Birthday Card with the new Brutus Monroe Topsy Cakes Stamp Set".  In the Brutus Monroe Blog there is hop where you can find lots of inspiration on how to use this set please visit the other Design Team members blogs for more ideas HERE.

QUICK TIP:

My Quick Tip today is to put embossed accents to your stamped images to accentuate some parts and give a different look and shine to your card.  This set is full of funky looking cakes with lots of layers... I loove chocolate cake so (of course) I colored this cake with different tones of brown, I used Metallic Embossing Powder Gilded to give shine to some layers of the cake.

I used different tones of green ink and I give the center on the card a lighter green color to accentuate the chocolate cake, I punch circles in different sizes with gold cardstock and glue the front panel to kraft cardstock and gold cardstock.

The new Brutus Monroe Embossing Powders are perfect for this quick tip, their beautiful and very shiny colors come in this two new collections: Spring and Summer, you can find them at the shop HERE.

Now is your turn, use embossing powders to give shine to your stamped images and give your cards some glow!!  Remember also to join us at the Brutus Monroe Fan Club to know the latest news from Christopher and lots of inspiration from the Design Team HERE.

Have a nice day,
